    • Amaro (groin) was sidelined again for...

Amaro (groin) was sidelined again for Wednesday's practice, Darryl Slater of NJ.com reports.

Analysis: Amaro was in pads, but was unable to go through team portions and instead, spent the majority of his time doing some light running on the side. He reportedly appeared to be in some pain while jogging on the side, which may indicate he's more than a few days off from a return. We should hear more on his status later in the week, but for now, the 24-year-old looks doubtful for Saturday's preseason matchup with the Giants.

Thompkins (groin) was limited at practice again on Wednesday.

Analysis: Thompkins was back in pads, but was only seen doing some light running on the side and didn't actually go through team portions. However, it appears his groin injury isn't anything serious and he's nearing a return, so it wouldn't be surprising if he's available for Saturday's preseason game against the Giants, unless the team wants to play it safe with their 28-year-old wide receiver.

Enunwa remains in the league's concussion protocol.

Analysis: Enunwa suffered the concussion during Friday's preseason matchup with the Redskins and has been unable to pass through the league's mandated protocol. A concrete return date has yet to be given, which is unsurprising, considering these lasting symptoms vary greatly between players. He'll continue to sit out of practice and appears doubtful for Saturday's matchup with the Giants.

Rhodes (hamstring) missed a fourth straight practice Wednesday, Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune reports.

Analysis: Rhodes suffered a hamstring injury on the first drive of last Thursday's preseason game against the Seahawks and has been sidelined ever since. Considering he sat out again Wednesday, his status for Sunday's matchup with the Chargers appears to be in doubt, although we'll have to wait for further confirmation later in the week. Rhodes is slated to start opposite veteran Terrence Newman at cornerback during the upcoming season, but in his absence, Trae Waynes, Captain Munnerlyn or Mackensie Alexander could see additional reps.

    • Taylor is operating with the Browns'...

Taylor is operating with the Browns' starting defense ahead of CB Tramon Williams, Cleveland.com reports.

Analysis: Complicating matters is that Williams is currently nursing a toe injury, but it is not expected to be serious. Taylor, on the other hand, has impressed coaches of late with his aggressive play, especially HC Jim Caldwell. However, given the timing of Taylor's recent ascension, his place atop the depth chart may ultimately have more to do with the Browns' curiosity in his ability to operate with a starting-caliber unit than anything else; the third preseason game usually serves as a dress rehearsal for most NFL teams in preparation for the regular season. Or, in other words, the Browns may simply know what they have in Williams, an eleven-year veteran, and would rather get a deeper grasp of what Taylor brings to the table during the team's final chance to play their best players in the preseason. Ultimately, though, it is Williams who projects to end up as the starting corner opposite Joe Haden come Week 1.
