Forte (knee) was not present for practice Wednesday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

Analysis: With no reported setbacks in Week 14's shutout loss to Broncos, Forte -- who logged 26 snaps in the contest -- figures to return to practice Thursday, as he did the last two weeks after sitting out Wednesday's session. The larger issue for those considering Forte in Week 15 lineups is that he's in a time-share with Bilal Powell, that saw Forte log six carries for 13 yards and two catches for 21 yards this past Sunday. For his part, Powell ran the ball 13 times for 35 yards against a rugged Denver run D. Looking ahead to this weekend's tilt at New Orleans, both backs could find a little more running room, with the Saints allowing an average of 114.3 rushing yards to date.

Wentz underwent surgery in Pittsburgh on Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.

Analysis: The Eagles have yet to issue an update following Wentz's procedure, but the expectation is that the surgery went as anticipated. A clearer timetable on Wentz's return to full football activities should emerge at some point during the offseason, but if his rehab goes according to plan, there's a good chance the franchise signal caller will be ready to play Week 1 of the 2018 season. The Eagles will turn to Nick Foles to start the final three games of the regular season and for the duration of the team's postseason run.

Lewis (ankle) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Dan Duggan of NJ.com reports.

Analysis: With the Giants electing to make Tavarres King inactive in a coach's decision in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, Lewis gained a little more primacy in the team's passing attack, drawing a season-high 11 targets in the contest. Despite the ample attention from quarterback Eli Manning, Lewis only delivered seven catches for 46 yards, and apparently picked up the ankle injury along the way. If Lewis is able to return to practice in some capacity the next two days, he'll likely receive clearance to play Week 15 against the Eagles, but his fantasy upside will be limited even if he retains a starting role.

Collins (ankle) won't participate in practice Wednesday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

Analysis: The Giants haven't issued an official comment on Collins' outlook for the final three regular-season contests, but given the 2-11 team's place in the standings and the fact that the safety was sporting a walking boot coming out of Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, Schwartz suggests it's "highly unlikely" that Collins will play Week 15 against the Eagles. That would come as a major blow to Collins' owners in IDP settings, who have benefited from the second-year player's massive numbers (46 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery) over the Giants' last four contests.

    • Mixon (concussion) remains in the NFL's...

Mixon (concussion) remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and isn't taking part in practice Wednesday, Jim Owczarski of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis: Though Owczarski reported prior to the session that Mixon was present for the start of practice and looked to be progressing, the running back's lack of involvement doesn't offer much reassurance that he'll be ready to return from a one-game absence. With the Bengals due to practice again Thursday and Friday, Mixon will have a couple more chances to improve his outlook heading into Sunday's game against the Vikings, but regardless of his participation level in those sessions, he'll need to gain clearance from an independent neurologist before being removed from the protocol. If Mixon is sidelined for a second straight game, Giovani Bernard would be in store for another sizable workload as the Bengals' feature back.
